Hi Janice,
Thanks for Brooklyn trivia. I graduated in '71 and went to Kingsborough.

Woody Allen was mentioned many times during Sing rehearsals, because his class supposedly won Sing, during each of his four years at Midwood — despite Barbra Streisand's presence at Erasmus during the same period.

Can you please tell me if this really happened?

Thanks, Mitch

Greetings from Colorado--

Yes, I attended Midwood High School in the late 1950s and then, Brooklyn College.

My book about my Brooklyn childhood is called:

SECOND LAMPPOST ON THE LEFT: Stories from My
Brooklyn Neighborhood. I graduated from an 8th grade elementary school called PS 99. Woody Allen wrote a movie called ZELIG and Mia Farrow played a character called Eudora Fletcher. (That happened to be the name of my elementary school principal at PS 99).

As for Midwood High School, did you know that it was the locale for the first Dutch settlement in Breuckelen?
In 1646, Midwout was the community where Dutch farmers raised cucumbers...in the middle of the woods.....hence,
MIDWOOD...
