Where Did My Brain Go?

Bear Grylls is Injured in Antarctica

Bear Grylls broke his shoulder during his expedition to Antarctica, and has been flown back to UK for treatment.

Grylls suffered the compound fracture, after he fell, while climbing a 9,000 foot mountain, which has never been climbed before. Although he was in severe pain, he had to wait 36 hours to be reached by helicopter. Besides his remote location, there were high winds, which Grylls described before his injury. Bear Grylls said:

“We have been hampered by the strong winds today, which have stopped us getting into the high mountains. The winds race from the South Pole outwards and when they race you really know about it.”

Grylls added:

“If the winds abate we will grab our opportunity and move into the high mountains tomorrow. If not we’ll start this tricky procedure of getting the jetski and inflatable down to the water.”

Undiscovered

Curiously, a search for Bear Grylls injured on Discovery produced no results.

Next season’s schedule of Man vs. Wild and Born Survivor will not be affected, because Grylls finished filming them before he left for Antarctica.

I hope Bear Grylls, makes a complete recovery, and successfully summits many more mountains in the future!
