This came in response to a letter Goodell received from Senators Leahy and Specter, after their constituents complained that they could not watch critical Steelers and Patriots games on “free TV”.
Curiously, the link to the original letter, now displays NFL Spikes Request For Vermonters Home-Market Access To Pats-Giants Game, and says that the game will not be shown.
Senator Leahy’s homepage has no other news about the game.
Historic Broadcast
This will be the first game shown on three networks, and the first simulcast of any kind of an NFL game since the first Super Bowl in 1967.
NOTE: The three networks are: CBS NBC NFL
What Should the Giants Do?
This game means absolutely nothing to the Giants in the standings. Giants should rest their starters.
It would be awful to enter the playoffs, if their subs get walloped by New England. However, it would be worse to enter the playoffs, if their starters take a beating — physical, or otherwise.
