New Year Hopes for 2015

Congratulations! We survived another year.

I will be a Senior Citizen soon. I lose friends every year. Every day is a gift. Every year is a bonus.

This is my third wish list in seven years of blogging. I will keep it simple, and just add one wish to my 2013 wishes. None of my earlier wishes came true.

I renamed my wishes, “hopes” this year. Will it make a difference?

I hope…

  1. Congress will balance the Federal budget.
  2. More Americans will vote.
    • You can change laws with your vote. Don’t complain, if you don’t vote.
  3. New York Giants replace Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell with Steve Spagnuolo.
    • It is hard to win, when your opponents average 25 points and 375 yards a game.
    • 2013 and 2014 were dismal. During this season, Giants defense was ranked 29th in NFL. Only 5 teams committed more defensive penalties than Giants.
    • Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has coached the Giants to consecutive losing seasons. Giants won 13 games over the last two seasons.
    • Steve Spagnuolo was the defensive coordinator in 2007 and 2008. Giants won 26 games in two seasons under Spagnuolo. The St. Louis Rams lured Spagnuolo with a head coaching job. Spagnuolo is currently a secondary coach for the Baltimore Ravens.
    • I hope Giants rehire Spags.
    • Spagnuolo won’t have his former stars: Osi Umenyiora, Michael Strahan and Justin Tuck. But Steve Spagnuolo would improve the New York Giants.

Happy New Year!

I wish you a happy and healthy New Year.

Update: Spagnuolo returns to Giants

One wish was granted! NY Giants hired Steve Spagnuolo to replace Perry Fewell as Defensive Coordinator. Go Giants!
